At a debate about what we hide from our dietitian, one of the guests raised a finger to his lips. Moments like that can’t be planned. You have to notice them before they disappear.

In February 2026 I photographed the press debate “Dieta (nie)prawdy. Co ukrywamy przed dietetykiem, a co widzi AI?” in Warsaw. The occasion was the launch of the Kantar Polska report “Zdrowie w erze AI”. On site were experts in dietetics and health, journalists and content creators, with a view of the National Stadium through the windows.

What happened

The programme was typical of a press event: a presentation of the report’s findings, two expert panel discussions and networking over coffee.

A panel against a screen full of data is reportage work. Nobody poses here, the exchange moves fast, and the material has to show both the people and the slide content the media will be quoting.

The audience at a press event is not just a backdrop. Journalists and guests record, take notes, react. These shots show the organiser that the topic caught the room’s attention.

Alongside the photos, video material was also being made: recording of the stage and interviews with the speakers. One shot shows the crew at work, against the screen displaying the report’s title. This kind of project means photo and video from a single event, consistent in style.

What I pay attention to at a press event

Screens and branding have to be legible. The event title, the report’s name and partner logos are concrete deliverables the organiser is accountable for after the event. I make sure they’re in the material before anyone asks.

A club-style room with floor-to-ceiling windows gives the shots a sense of place. A view of the National Stadium says Warsaw straight away. Shots like this later work in write-ups and announcements for future editions.

Set and catering details round out the report. A neon sign, flowers, snacks with little hearts – these are the shots that bring the gallery to life between panels.

Result

The client’s team downloaded the full gallery several times within a month of the event. Media covered both the debate and the report’s findings, and one of the participants got in touch of their own accord asking about using the photos. The material was also used to communicate the report after the event.
