When you choose a venue for a company party, you look at floor space, catering and whether your guests can get home. Quite right. But there is something else the venue catalogues do not mention: how the evening will look in photos. That question comes back a week after the party, when someone asks for material for social media.
This guide to company party venues in Warsaw differs from the venue lists in one respect: I have worked with a camera at a real party in every one of these spaces. I have photographed events professionally since 2012. Next to each venue you will find a link to the full photo coverage, so you do not have to take my word for it.
This is not a ranking. These are notes from the job, arranged so that you can quickly find a space for the format you are planning: Christmas party, team event, gala or team dinner.
If you are looking for a venue for a conference rather than a party, that is a separate topic and a separate article: conference venues in Warsaw.
Before you choose: three things the venue catalogues do not mention
The best-looking party venues in Warsaw are dark. That is not a flaw, it is a feature. Brick, candles, string lights and spotlights make an evening where people want to stay longer. The same darkness is the hardest working condition for a photographer. The conclusion is simple: choose the semi-darkness deliberately and warn your photographer about it, instead of hoping it will somehow work out. It will, but that is a matter of equipment and experience, not luck.
A flash pointed straight at the guests kills what you paid for. The interior cost money because it has atmosphere. Flat white light turns it into an ordinary hotel banquet hall. That is why in venues like these I work with fast lenses and available light, and I use flash sparingly and from the side. Ask any photographer about this before you sign the contract.
A party with an activity makes for better photos than a party with just a bar. When people have something to do, they stop reacting to the camera. When the programme is nothing but standing around with a glass, a good part of the frames will look like standing around with a glass. Cooking, a show, a competition, a campfire: anything that occupies hands and attention.
I come back to these three things for every venue below.
Industrial semi-darkness: Christmas parties and team events without ties
Spółdzielnia at Centrum Praskie Koneser
An industrial hall in Praga: brick, steel, several levels and a really large space. One of the most interesting event venues in Warsaw, and at the same time one of the more difficult ones to photograph.
Here I photographed the Soflab Technology company Christmas party: four hours of reportage, meaning documentation of how the evening unfolded, and 447 photos delivered in five working days. It was the second time this client had chosen the same venue.
Behind the lens: it is dark in there, very dark. The ceiling is high and the walls are dark, so bouncing the flash off the ceiling, the standard trick for difficult interiors, does not work here. The light has nothing to bounce off. That leaves fast lenses and longer exposures with flash, so that what you see with the naked eye stays in the frame. The result is worth it, because the scale of the interior enters the frame by itself.

Works well for: a company Christmas party without a rigid programme, a team event with a DJ and a photo booth, an event for a larger team that should look modern.
Browar Warszawski in Browary Warszawskie
A clarification, because the names get mixed up: Browary Warszawskie is the whole revitalised complex of the former brewery in Wola. I photographed in the Browar Warszawski restaurant, in a historic hall with a brick barrel vault.
It was a company Christmas party: three hours of reportage and 360 photos delivered in five days. The third in a row for this client at the same venue.

Behind the lens: brick, string lights and candles give a semi-darkness that is both the whole charm of this place and its difficulty. The warm colour of the brick plays against cool LED accents, and the arched vault frames every wide shot like a picture frame.

Works well for: a company Christmas party, a team dinner, a party with a big-city feel without hiring a hall.
Intimate: when the evening should look like a scene from a film
Weles Bar
A hidden bar in a basement on Nowogrodzka Street, in a speakeasy style: a pressed metal ceiling, a crystal chandelier, heavy curtains. There is no sign. If guests write that they cannot find the entrance, everything is fine.
Here I photographed the Savills company party with an illusionist show: three hours, 384 photos delivered in three days.

Behind the lens: the darkest place on this list and some of the most distinctive frames. A spotlight cuts people out of the black background as in a theatre, and the colour can go from deep red to cold blue within a single room. This is not a space for a slide presentation. It is a space for an evening that should look like a frame from a film.

Works well for: an intimate company party, a VIP meeting, an after-party following a conference.
Hotel Bristol
A historic building from 1901 on Krakowskie Przedmieście, right next to the Presidential Palace. Wood panelling, mirrors, golden curtains and an address that speaks for itself.
Here I photographed a company party for an IT company: an elegant dinner with a performance by a pair of professional dancers. If you worry that it will feel stiff in an interior like this, this particular evening ended with a full dance floor.

Behind the lens: the light is warm and hotel-like, with little daylight. The material comes out elegant and intimate rather than documentary. Conversations at the tables and the dance floor look good; wide shots of a crowd work less well.

Works well for: a gala, an anniversary, a dinner with clients, an event where the address on the invitation matters.
Belvedere in Royal Łazienki Park
The restaurant has operated since 1992 in the historic New Orangery in Łazienki. An interior full of tropical greenery, recommended by the Michelin guide for years.
Here I photographed a company gala in October, with dinner and a live concert. You will not find this job in my portfolio, because it was a closed gala, but I describe it because the venue itself is too good to leave out.

Behind the lens: these are really two different spaces in one booking. The cocktail area has huge windows looking straight onto the park, so in daytime the greenery enters the frame by itself and makes a foreground you never have to bring in. The part with the stage is another story: a chandelier, the warm reds of the spotlights and the feel of an intimate concert. If you are planning a gala with an artistic part, you should know that the photos from these two parts will look like they come from two different evenings. That is an advantage, as long as you expect it.

Works well for: a gala with a concert, a company anniversary, a board dinner, an event after which guests walk straight out into the park.
In summer, outdoors
Miami Wars by the Vistula
A seasonal space by Zaruskiego Boulevard, open from May to the end of September. According to the club’s website, it hosts gatherings of 6 to 160 people, and has a terrace right on the water and a green clearing with a campfire. The layout has two levels: higher up the publicly accessible part with a bar, lower down an intimate zone right by the water.
Here I photographed a team event for the international team at Sppartners: a whole evening outdoors, from deckchairs to a campfire in the clearing.

Behind the lens: this is the only place on this list where I am not fighting the darkness but making use of what is there. In June at seven in the evening, the golden light over the Vistula does the work that indoors you pay a lighting company for. After dark, the string lights and the campfire take over. It is hard to find kinder light: warm and irregular, and it builds the mood by itself.

Works well for: a summer team event, a company picnic, a relaxed evening after a conference. With one caveat: agree the weather plan B with the venue, not with the forecast.
When the party should have an activity, not just a bar
Cook Story by Samsung
A cooking studio in Royal Wilanów, open since 2017 and refreshed in 2024. The format is simple: the team cooks under the eye of chefs, then everyone eats what they have cooked.
Here I photographed a company party built around cooking together.

Behind the lens: this is the most rewarding team-event format to photograph. People have their hands full, so nobody poses or freezes at the sight of the camera. Everyone is chopping, frying, commenting, and the photographer has plenty to choose from, because something is happening all the time. The interior itself is dark, but large windows looking onto greenery give daylight that the other venues on this list do not have at all. The best frames here are close up: hands, pans, plates.

Works well for: a team event with a concrete programme instead of casual standing around with a glass.

Frequently asked questions
It depends on the format and the time of year. For a company Christmas party and a larger team event, industrial spaces work well: Spółdzielnia at Koneser and Browar Warszawski. For an intimate evening for a smaller group: Weles Bar. For a gala with an elegant dinner: Hotel Bristol or Belvedere in Łazienki. In summer, the open-air venue by the Vistula is the best choice.
Industrial interiors with brick and warm light give a Christmas party an atmosphere that a room in an office building never will. I have photographed Christmas parties at Spółdzielnia at Koneser and at Browar Warszawski. Both places are dark, so it is worth raising this in the conversation with your photographer, but both look much better in photos than a standard banquet hall.
It is a technical challenge, not an obstacle. Dark interiors call for fast lenses, a feel for using flash and work in available light. It becomes a problem only when nobody has thought about it beforehand and the photographer rescues the situation with a flash pointed straight at the guests. Then an atmospheric interior turns into a flat, white room in the photos.
In the jobs described in this article it was three to four hours, depending on the programme of the evening. That usually yields from 360 to 447 photos. We agree the exact range when preparing the quote, because it depends on whether the party has programme items or is a relaxed evening.
December is the busiest month of the year, and Fridays can be booked up several months in advance. If you already have a date and a venue, it is better to ask about availability sooner rather than later.
Before you sign with the venue, ask one thing
Ask your photographer what to expect from photos in this particular room: what will work by itself and what will have to be worked around. It is a short conversation that saves you disappointment after the party, and it is best to have it before you sign with the venue, not after.
