A conference that combines tradition with modernity –event photography in action
There are events that have something special about them – and Global Check-in 2024 was definitely one of them. Not only because it touched on key topics of digital expansion, but also because of the amazing location. The Targowa Center for Creativity, tucked away in the heart of Warsaw’s Praga district, perfectly captures the spirit of change – historic facade meets modern interiors and innovative spaces here.
As event photographer in Warsaw, I was keen to convey this contrast in the photos – entrepreneurs with a vision of the future against the backdrop of historic walls, networking talks under the glass roof of the courtyard, light and shadow playing on the faces of the speakers. This is where the power of good event photography lies – it not only documents the event, but also shows its unique character and makes participants eager to return.
I was also surprised that living just a few streetcar stops away from the Creativity Center, I only now had the opportunity to discover it. Right next to the famous Różyc bazaar and bustling Ząbkowska Street, yet I was unfamiliar with the space until now – now I will definitely recommend it to event organizers.

📸 Highlights
1️⃣ A morning full of energy – registration and networking
The day began with the first handshakes, an exchange of business cards and a welcome coffee. There was a lot going on from the morning – more than 35 speakers and hundreds of participants gathered in the hall, ready for an intense day full of inspiring discussions.
For an event photographer, the morning is one of the key moments of an event. It’s the time when people are just getting to know each other, breaking the first ice and getting used to the space. For me, event photography is more than just documenting – it’s about getting into the mood of the event, capturing emotions and building relationships that make participants feel at ease and look good in the photos. And as you know, trust builds over time, so it’s good to have the space for more natural, unforced frames.

2️⃣ Speeches that mattered
There was no shortage of strong names and important topics on stage. Anyone interested in e-commerce and exports found something for themselves, from strategies for expansion into foreign markets to the panel “Polish super brands abroad” led by Krzysztof Przybyl.

3️⃣ Networking and spaces that fostered conversation
During any conference, the behind-the-scenes conversations are what stay for a long time. Networking zones were bustling – people exchanged experiences, made contacts, and specific business conversations took place at expert booths.

🌞 What were the photographic challenges?
Shooting in such a space is not only a pleasure, but also a challenge.
🟠 Harsh light on the patio – during the second half of the day, strong sunlight came through the glass roof, leaving some participants in harsh light and others in shadow. The solution? Photographing from the right side to show faces in the sun, not hidden in shadow.
🟠 Great dynamics of the event – in parallel to shooting I was realizing with my team of cameramen a video clip and a series of interviews, which required full synchronization with the film team. See what we prepared.
📢 Why take care of professional event photos?
