While taking some photos of motorcycles for Dragon from Ridetobe, the idea came up for a photo report on the second edition of the Motorcycle Cinema at Jackopt Warsaw. Smoku organized the whole event together with a Yamaha dealer, who prepared a few surprises. Motorcycle Cinema is an event where you can meet not only fans of unicycles, but also watch cult films starring motorcycles.
What makes us tick
During this edition, the film “What makes us tick” was shown on the screen. There were so many takers that the screening was held in the upper section with a bar, and on the floor below, so that everyone had a chance to see the film sitting down, as one room was already getting cramped.
The film Co Nas Kręci is a documentary about the origins of motorcycling. It gives a glimpse into the beginnings of cafe racers, as well as three-wheeled vehicles used as service machines on wooden cycling tracks.
Outdoor cinemas in Warsaw
This is one of many themed events I’ve had the opportunity to photograph, and once again, despite the smaller scale of the event, its quality makes up for the number of attendees. Still, for such a venue, there were quite a few people, and I have a feeling that none were there by chance, but out of pure passion for motorcycles and interest in this world. There are plenty of events with outdoor cinema in Warsaw, but if the film turns out to be weak, it’s worth it to get the right company as well. In this case, both the film and the company were perfect.
Photo report from the film screening
If you are organizing a similar event related to a film screening, premiere, or organizing outdoor cinemas and are looking for a photographer – you can ask for a date and a quote. As you can see, these are not easy conditions, because during such events the main source of light is often the screen or TV itself. By the way, it is better not to interfere during films that require concentration, or there is not much action in them and any noise distracts the viewer. Therefore, for my part, I can assure you that I work with equipment that can simultaneously cope with very low light, and at the same time has a silent shooting mode.
