A corporate event very often takes place somewhere off-site. The choice of venue for an event is of great importance, as the location often determines the atmosphere of the event. Some spaces are more malleable and you can do events of different scale and stature in them. Here I had the opportunity to make a photo report of a corporate event at the hotel Bristol on Krakowskie Przedmie艣cie Street. It is a very nice hotel located in the heart of Warsaw’s Old Town, which gives the event a very momentous atmosphere. It was an elegant corporate dinner for an IT company, so everyone was dressed quite elegantly.
An elegant corporate event?
At the beginning of my adventure with event photography, I would have assumed that it would be stiff. However, as you will see further down the page, I would have been very surprised, because people were having a great time and there was a lot going on. There was something going on in every part of the event – conversations at the tables, jokes at the bar and a full dance floor of people dancing and singing. I really bring a lot of photos from such events, but they are also very good to look through and there is a lot to choose from.
Photographer for a corporate event in Warsaw
As a party photographer for a corporate event, I have to operate between incognito mode and shoot so as not to be noticed. At other times, I have to go into the middle of people and interact so as not to make guests uncomfortable.
During this corporate event it was quite dense and, as you can see, more than once I was spotted somewhere in the crowd of guests and someone glanced or pointed in the direction of the lens. I don’t mind, but when doing a reportage I prefer to decide which photos we will get a little acquainted with be to take souvenir photos of couples and groups of guests.
Unposed photos from the event
In my photographic adventure, I have already had the opportunity to arrange sessions where I choose the location, frame and light for the shot. When photographing an event, there is so much going on that I prefer to look for people in a cool place and space where I don’t have to arrange anything else. This way, I don’t waste time going to walls or looking for backgrounds for photos, but act immediately, without interrupting the conversations or the fun. A snap and it’s done. You just have to be at the right time and place. That’s what event photography.
Bar at a corporate event
A bar at a corporate event, I think, is a matter of course in our culture, and many people feel like having a drink, or a few shots. I have seen various corporate events without it, and let’s not kid ourselves that they can be organized without a few percent. And I have even witnessed where people had to manage on their own, but then I have to hide the camera and show the car keys. 馃槈
At this event they thought things through perfectly, because not everyone likes champagne, so from the very entrance you could choose something for yourself – also without alcohol. By the way, the bar served everything the guests wanted, so you could have both wine at the table and cool drinks. In this way, everyone has a chance to have fun in their own way and there is something going on at every venue.
Dance show at a corporate event
To rock the fun on the dance floor a little, a little surprise was prepared. A couple of professional dancers appeared there, who I associate from some TV show. Unfortunately, I can’t remember their names, but you can see that they know what they’re doing and dale a good time. It was also a challenge for me to photograph them together, as it was a dynamic dance, at a frenetic pace, with a few slower moments. When I met them in the hallway, it was only then that it was clear that they were almost alive after such a show, but during the performance they completely failed to let it show. This is how professionals work at events.
After such an introduction, the dance floor immediately became full of eager people and the party got even more rocking. It was almost over for me, but with such an atmosphere on the dance floor, it didn’t take me long to take a lot of cool photos from the dance floor. People were having fun and singing, so I had cool dance floor photos right away.
