Wine Magazine’s Grand Prix Gala took place at the Warski Sluzewiec Racecourse, over the weekend of October 27-29, 2017. The photo report from the Gala in this post, includes photos from the second day of the event combined with a trade show, tastings and workshops for industry people and guests who went to this special event.
Photo report from the event
Wine Magazine’s Grand Prix is one of the most important events in the wine world. It brings together people from the world of wine, business culture and finance. It is an opportunity to sum up a given year in the industry and, above all, an opportunity to present the Grand Prix awards. These are awards for the best wines in 10 categories, divided into white and red wines in price ranges up to PLN 50, PLN 51-100 and above PLN 100. Awards are also given for the best sparkling and rosé wines. I’ll post a photo report of the awards presentation in a separate post from the first day of the gala combined with the launch dinner.
Grand Prix gala organizer
Grand Prix of Wine Magazine organized by the publisher of Wine Magazine, which is Stilnovisti – one of the oldest companies dealing with investments in wine, whisky and also art. Through it, you can purchase, among other things, whisky and wine barrels, which are an alternative form of investment.
Photo report from the gala
The photo report from the gala I present to you are pictures from the exhibition part, where producers and importers can present their wines. As many as 200 winemakers from all over the world and more than 2,000 wines were invited for tasting!
Photo report from the workshop and wine tasting
During the Wine Magazine Grand Prix, there were also workshops and wine tastings in the upper stands, discussing different flavors. I don’t know much about it, so I was a bit shocked at how complex the subject is and how much you can talk about wine, its flavors, aromas and how this is influenced by where, how and when the vines are grown.
Live Cooking at the event
With the whole event right next to it, live cooking was taking place on the stage, conducted by the Whirpool Culinary Academy in cooperation with the Barilla brand (I recommend it, I use their products myself).
Stefa foodt ruck
A very cool and nice idea at this type of event was also a food truck loss where you could just have a beer and eat something warm. I opted for Belgian frites.
